Walter E. Dashner, 80, of Deltona, Fl, and formerly of Ottawa Lake, MI, died Tuesday, October 18, 2016, in his home. Born December 24, 1935, in Monroe, MI, he was the son of Lawrence and Eleanor (Clark) Dashner. A US Army veteran of the Korean War, he married Barbara Davis on March 5, 1958. Walter retired from the Spicer Division of the Dana Corporation in Toledo after 28 years of service. He was a former member of Faith Baptist Church in Lambertville, MI. He enjoyed gardening and farming.
He is survived by his loving wife, Barbara; son, Gary (Kellie) Dashner; brothers, Larry (Joyce) and Dale (Phyllis) Dashner; sister, Lucille Skiver; 5 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. Walter was preceded in death by 2 children, Walter Dashner, Jr. and Penny Ellen Dashner.
Visitation will be from 11:00 am – 2:00 pm, Thursday, October 27, 2016, at the Michael W. Pawlak Funeral Home, 1640 Smith Rd. (at Jackman) Temperance, MI, where funeral services will follow at 2:00 pm. Pastor Dan Adams, officiating. Interment will follow at Whiteford Union Cemetery. www.pawlakfuneralhome.com
